WHAT IS AEJMC

The Communication Technology division (formerly Communication Technology and Policy) is one of more than a dozen divisions of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC). AEJMC is an international association of more than 3,300 journalism and mass communication faculty, students, administrators, and professionals from more than 30 countries, with the majority from the United States. Founded in 1912, AEJMC is the oldest and largest association of journalism and mass communication educators and administrators at the college level.
The Communication Technology division brings together researchers, teachers and professionals who are interested in how new communication technologies are changing media and society. The division has attracted scholarship pertaining to innovative uses of new media technologies such as blogging and podcasting, and to technology adoption and digital divide issues.
If you are an AEJMC member already, I invite you to join our division. If you are new to the organization, you can become a member of our division by visiting the AEJMC Web site. We have an annual research paper competition with awards for the best grad student papers (Jung-Sook Lee Competition) and we also participate in the Midwinter AEJMC conference. I encourage you to submit papers to both. If you would like to learn more about us, please feel free to explore our Web site. Also, please be sure to check out the latest postings on our division's blog at the AEJMC site.
